Answer:  Not all medications are designed for everyone, so it’s important that a licensed Medical Provider aids in a weight-loss plan that’s best for each individual.

Answer: We follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance on defining “overweight.” You’re considered overweight if you have a BMI of 25 to 29.9. A healthy BMI for adult men and women is 18.5 to 24.9.

Answer: You may want to consider medical weight loss if you:

  • Aren’t a candidate for weight loss surgery
  • Aren’t ready for weight loss surgery
  • Haven’t been able to lose weight on your own

Answer: The amount of weight you can expect to lose depends on many factors, including your starting weight, overall health and the types of treatments you try. For example, someone focusing only on diet and exercise might lose between 2% and 5% of their total body weight. Someone who tries medical nutrition therapy may lose between 5% and 10% of their total body weight. Someone who uses medication may lose up to 20% of their total body weight. In general, a safe rate of weight loss is 1 to 2 pounds per week. Our weight loss board-certified Medical Provider will help you define your goals and select the best option for you and your lifestyle.

*Weight-loss varies and is not guaranteed, however, we at Carolina Health and Hydration, PLLC will examine every option available to help you reach a healthy weight and your goal.

Answer: At your first medical weight-loss consultation, you will meet with a board-certified Medical Provider and staff. They will do a thorough assessment of your weight, overall health, lifestyle, medical history and discuss realistic treatment goals with you.

Answer: We offer a range of evidence-based approaches to non-surgical weight loss, including:

  • Lifestyle management and nutritional counseling
  • Weight-loss medications and/or injections

Answer: No. You don’t have to buy meal replacement products for our medical weight-loss program. If you’re interested in meal replacement products, we can make recommendations based on your specific needs.

Answer: Weight loss medication is an effective tool when combined with a healthy lifestyle. We offer a variety of FDA-approved injections and prescription medications, that can help you achieve modest weight loss (5% to 20% of total body weight).

However, it’s important to understand that prescription weight loss medication isn’t the same as over-the-counter dietary supplements for weight loss. Supplements have not been evaluated or approved by the FDA. So even if they claim to be “safe” or “natural,” they aren’t regulated. We recommend talking to your Medical Provider before trying supplements.

Answer: Yes. At Carolina Health and Hydration ALL of our medications and nutritional supplements come from FDA approved pharmaceutical companies.

FDA-Approved EMSELLA Chair

Is Emsella right for me?

EMSELLA is suitable for men and women of any age who are looking for a solution for urinary incontinence and bladder leakage and want to improve their quality of life. It is also a good option for those who want to strengthen their pelvic floor muscles.

Who would not be a good candidate for Emsella?

Patients who have a pacemaker, drug pump, cochlear implant, or neurostimulator implanted, or have metal implants near the pelvic area should not receive the Emsella treatment. This is because the treatment uses HIFEM (High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Stimulation) technology. Your suitability for the treatment will be discussed during your initial consultation.

How many Emsella treatments will I need?

A typical treatment takes approximately 30 minutes and typically six sessions are needed, scheduled twice a week for three weeks. Additional sessions may be recommended for severe bladder leakage.

What does Emsella feel like?

The Emsella treatment is non-invasive. You will remain fully clothed while sitting on the Emsella chair. During the treatment, patients may feel tingling and contracting of their pelvic floor muscles, but it is painless. Patients can resume their daily activities immediately after the treatment.

When will I see results from Emsella Treatment?

Many patients report seeing benefits and improvement in bladder control after just one treatment, while others may see results toward the end of their six sessions or a few weeks after the end of treatment. Results may vary from patient to patient. Research shows that 95% of patients who followed the average protocol reported an improvement in quality of life after three weeks of Emsella, and two-thirds of patients completely eliminated or reduced their need for pads.

How much is Emsella Treatment?

The cost of the Emsella is $895 paid in full for (9) Treatments (6 Treatments over a 3-week span, plus 3 maintenance treatments scheduled at your convenience). The treatment is affordable and the improvement in quality of life is priceless! *Individual treatments are $195 if paid per visit.
